Evie and Mark’s Wimbish house wedding is as unique as they come. Their wedding was in the middle of December and they lucked out and had amazing weather. As we all know, this year has had some unseasonably cold weather. The wanted to have their wedding at the place they would have met had the event not been cancelled, which was at the Oakland Cemetery. As a fairly new Atlanta wedding photographer, I had no idea that a lot of couples use the Oakland Cemetery as their place for their ceremony. I was surprise and excited. Plus, their theme of black, red, and white went well with their wedding.

I had previously photographed at the Wimbish House¬†and in fact this would be my third wedding at the house since moving to Atlanta less than two years ago. I like the Wimbish house because it has lots of space and great lighting for the couple to get ready in and the reception room is pretty big with it’s own stage incase you feel like having a band. It also offers an opportunity for guests to move around freely if they are able, while dancing is going on downstairs; you can enjoy a nice cocktail and have a nice conversation upstairs.

It was an emotional day at the Oakland Cemetery wedding ceremony. Both Evie and her parents shared tears of joy and delight when Mark read his vows to Evie. Evie and Mark danced beautifully to their first song as husband and wife. During the reception, Evie changed to a red traditional wedding dress. Enjoy the glimpse from their wedding at the Oakland Cemetery and Wimbish House.
