I am in love with every photograph from Karen and John’s Sunset Room National Harbor Wedding. I loved that she got ready at The Gaylord National Resort and Convencion Center. I love all the details, flowers, rings, shoes, you name it, I LOVE IT!!!

We started the day out at Frizzles in Alexandria, and Ruby did a marvelous job with Karen. He bridesmaids were also there and had their hair and makeup done. It was a great experience. After that, we had some time to kill, so we had lunch before it was time to get ready. I worked during lunch, like I normally do anyways, I captured the details and I enjoyed it. It made me slow down, because, thanks to the Air Force, I eat pretty fast. When it was time to have Karen put on the dress, I was ready and so was her mother and grandmother, who also looked stunning. I captured Karen’s natural beauty and her quirkiness.

When we were all set, we went to the front side of the Gaylord for their first look. John was blown away by the dress and of course, Karen! I let them be them and got some awesome portraits. By the time I was done, it was time to head to The Sunset Room National Harbor. They had a wonderful and handsome priest officiating their ceremony, the Rev. Curtis Farr. I’m allowed to call him that since we will be getting married in August. He did a wonderful job, but I already knew that and everyone loved him. After a great ceremony, comes my favorite part, the reception!! Where everyone lets loose and just has a blast! Their cake was adorable and so were their favors, which were small jars filled with Old Bay seasoning. It doesn’t get any more Maryland than that. To top it all off, they had a wonderful sunset. Of course, you only get that at The Sunset Room National Harbor.

Karen and John’s Sunset Room National Harbor wedding was definitely one for the books and one that will always be remembered. I’m very grateful to have them as friends and as clients, and for trusting me to document their day. I can’t wait for them to have kids and share their album with them.

Curtis loves making everyone laugh and he is so natural at it!
